Mother...

Whenever I do a newborn shoot I always like to do a newborn/mommy shoot as well.  Mother's are pretty important people and there isn't always a lot of thanks passed around for the countless hours a mother puts in for the well being of her family.  That little soul relies so much on their mother.  It is amazing how the mother instinct kicks in to protect and care for these sweet babies.  There is nothing more scary and rewarding then being a mother!

With all that said about a mother, there is nothing that can replace the love of a dad.  These two pictures warm my heart, and no they were not staged.
The life of a resident doctor is a busy one! I know this life first hand.  They are rarely home, their minds are constantly somewhere else, they need to study, etc. But what warms my heart about this next picture is how often I saw this in my own home.  I love to see such a busy dad incorporate their child into their life. It is those small moments that mean so much. I have plenty of these moments tucked away in my memory. I guess you can say it is part of being a mother to notice and appreciate these tender moments.

Thank you Johnston family for sharing this special time with your family.  You have become a huge blessing in our lives here in South Carolina!
