Yes I have been MIA from the photography/blogging world! I have been busy getting settled and being a mommy. I am sorry to the family members STILL waiting on pictures. I should be getting them in the mail soon.
First off I want to thank those who commented on the last post. I so appreciate the constructive criticism! I definitely have been in a creative funk lately. I noticed along with many of you that most of my pictures were dark and gloomy, and looking "muddy" from being OVER-edited. I truly believe your mood is reflected in anything you do that is artistic. I was feeling a little lost even over processed myself. So I took a little break and focused on getting my life in balance and now I am itching to get shooting again!
Yesterday Nash and I went to a fun playdate at the river. I am sure our friends thought I was the paparazzi because I was snapping pictures of everyone....IT FELT SO GOOD to be back in the photography world. I love taking pictures of children at play, it is so natural and innocent. THIS is what my photography is all about!

Please leave a comment, I would love to hear your views!

Honestly, girl...Great shots! These photos make me happy...they tell the story of having fun and the innocence of childhood...they really pull at your heartstrings!! I love them! Really good work Chris!
LOVE! I love how natural your pics are.. these are perfect. Great job. Love the dirty faces and the beautiful water. GREAT coloring. I also LOVE the new little logo!
Love these pics! Makes me wish I was there too so you'd have shot Kat. :) The muddy-faced Sam and Tuck ones are my favorites, totally captures the moment and their personalities. Your B&W conversion looks great too. Nice work! :)
I just spent the past hour pouring over your photos! They are all BEAUTIFUL!!! You are incredibly gifted Christina! I love your style of editing - just gorgeous. I would love to learn more about what programs you work with. I really hope you make this more than just a "hobby" someday!!!:) And I would love to get copies of some of the shots you got of the kids!
i love the colors and how sharp the details are.
You are your own worst critic! I don't think you've taken a bad picture! I love looking at your photos....you amaze me! They really are good Chris...quit doubting yourself.
Chris so so perfect! The light is so warm and inviting, and the innocence is caught in their eyes! I just can't get over the light I just love them! Very very good!
They are all great Christina! I think my favorite is the first one with the light shining on the little girl and the ripples in the water.
I also love the muddy face one - all boy!
one more thing, in the top pic, I just LOVE how it looks like she is in this spotlight out there all by herself in this beautiful water, in her own perfect world. It's simply amazing.
Ok - so "The Hancock Fam" said it perfectly. I couldn't think of how to describe that one but it really is like she is out there in here own peaceful little sactuary. - that's kind of what nature is for little ones. . . a feeling I try hard to bring back to my own adult world- that sense of wonder at what God has created. I really love that one- I know I already said that. :)
WOW I like them, I didn't think yours were gloomy, I just thought you was trying something new. It looks like you are back in balance. Good Job Chris.
I am just so glad that your little talent is blessing the lives of so many. I love how you like the candid shots. And who wouldn't love the pics with kids getting dirty. I love them!!
